Absolutely. In addition to our yearly donation to the Cove, we are making one very soon. The "soft succession" is on it's way.

As a practical observation, this is going to put enormous pressure on food banks. So figure out how to donate to a local food bank like The Cove if you can.

We should all be prepared for this shutdown to last a very long time. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it lasted through the end of the year.

The longer it lasts, the more it will accelerate the "soft succession" approach over time.

FYI:
SNAP benefits have never been cut off during a government shutdown...until now. The multi billion $ contingency fund Trump's USDA is refusing to tap into was created expressly for this purpose. Trump's use of hungry kids as a political bargaining chip is cruel and abhorrent.

and btw, most people using SNAP are working, some with 2 jobs. A system where employers don't pay a minimum wage that gives working people a wage high enough to feed their families is where the focus needs to be.
