Never forget:

Also, remind me to invest in whatever company makes those inflatable costumes. One could make a killing selling those in cities where Trump sends his Gestapo next for another performative attack on normal life.

Re: 3 Short videos from Timothy Snyder
Just saying, but our society is far more threatened by lawless behavior by powerful people (like the very wealthy and law enforcement) than they are by lawless behavior by poor people with very little power.
And even if you think you need to enforce all of the laws (and that gets complicated quickly) you need to have a sense of proportion. Using maximum force and brutality on people who are, at most, guilty of a civil offense (which most immigration violations are) isn't a proportional response.

You might try watching the videos - instead of just tossing around random topics and words that are not used in the videos like you think they are. But that would require both the ability to comprehend what you are reading/watching….as well as how it fits into our history; something you’ve shown yourself incapable of doing on multiple occasions, here.dorankj wrote: Sun Oct 12, 2025 8:30 am So the guy who just secured peace for Isreal and Gaza also wants to eliminate the Jews (al la Hitler/Nazi)…..

Ken, your guy did not secure peace the Israel/Gaza conflict, that is a long long way off. The Qataris negotiated a prisoner swap and that is a big first step, but doesn't guarantee the fate of the largest issues.
From the NYT:
"Israel and Hamas Were Not Ready for a Comprehensive Peace Deal, Mediator Says
The Qatari prime minister told The New York Times that Gaza war mediators decided to delay talks on more difficult issues so a hostage-prisoner swap could be concluded quickly.
<< The mediators who helped reach the Gaza cease-fire deal decided to delay talks on more difficult issues, such as Hamas’s arsenal, because the warring parties were not ready for a comprehensive agreement, Qatar’s prime minister said in an interview.
The prime minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, was one of the central mediators in efforts to end the war in Gaza, and the Qataris have maintained close contacts with Hamas’s leadership for years. He spoke to The New York Times soon after Israel and Hamas agreed to halt hostilities in Gaza and exchange all the remaining hostages in the territory for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
The deal left some of the thorniest issues in the conflict for a later stage, including the future of Hamas’s weapons and how Gaza would be governed after the end of the war.
“If we went for full-package negotiations, we wouldn’t have reached these results,” Sheikh Mohammed said on Friday in Paris. He spoke after a meeting there with President Emmanuel Macron of France and Arab and European foreign ministers about postwar Gaza.
Sheikh Mohammed said Hamas had expressed a willingness to talk about a different kind of relationship with Israel.
“Hamas are actually open to have a discussion about how they won’t pose a threat for Israel,” the prime minister said.
Hamas officials, the Israeli prime minister’s office and the Israeli foreign ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment. >>

The man who had been wrongly incarcerated for 43 years here, released after the prosecutors recognized their mistake, was grabbed by ICE for deportation as he was released.

So the guy who just secured peace for Isreal and Gaza also wants to eliminate the Jews (al la Hitler/Nazi) with his Jewish son? And you demand laws be followed but of course NOT the laws that state you have to have legal status to remain here? AND you want the enforcers of the laws on the books (majority minority BTW) harmed, protested and rioted! You're such twisted, confused backwards knuckleheads.

Re: 3 Short videos from Timothy Snyder
I think it is sad and kind of bizarre that just a few weeks after the Charlie Kirk shooting and so many calls against speech that might incite violence the Administration and its water-carriers are saying that protestors dressed as frogs and dinosaurs are "antifa" and "terrorists".
The combination of that rhetoric, the Administration's desire for an ugly confrontation, and the poor training of the people on the front lines ("ICE Agents") will inevitably lead to a massacre. Probably livestreamed.

Just the response I would expect from a willing, uneducated, drooling, fascist, boot-licking, sycophant.dorankj wrote: Sat Oct 11, 2025 10:44 pm Talk about a 'cultist'! You're such a sad disgusting angry hypocrite.

Re: 3 Short videos from Timothy Snyder
Noticing the protesters in London-alot are grey haired. They remember, just like my parents remember, the Nazi period of time. My parents passed that down to me. They lived through all of that, the threat of Hitler and watched it happen, then McCarthyism, all the other events that threatened free speech and democracy. So some of us "see" it too. Snyder is right.
Antifa "organization". I am antifa, come and arrest me, for being against Hitler. Pam Bondi and the rest of the gang does a fine job of categorizing those that don't believe in what they believe in, including religious zealotry and says it is Antifa. My dad was Antifa then, fighting in WWII. They take something good and twist it into something it is so not. They assume their base is stupid, so they can say these things.
I like to think their base is not as stupid as they think they are.

It is also important to keep in mind that ICE agents are amongst those who must come to work without pay during a government shutdown. They have poor morale, little discipline, and even less actual training. So they are likely to act out in frustration during this time.

PL:
"LAW AND ORDER
It is high time for local law enforcement to actually enforce the law and arrest all ICE agents and contractors who abuse their power and violate the law, including without limitations the Fourth, Fifth and Eighth Amendments, Habeas Corpus, 18 U.S. Code § 241, 18 U.S.C. § 912 and all state laws regarding the brandishing of weapons, assault, unlawful restraint and false imprisonment.
Even Judge Kavanaugh agreed in his recent majority opinion on behalf of SCOTUS that rogue ICE agents could be held accountable. They must be.
Demand no less of your local sheriff, of your local police department, of your mayor, of your attorney general, and of your governor.
Remember: ICE agents and contractors cannot be pardoned by Trump against state charges in state court. They might think they are the predators, but they, as a matter of fact, have zero local immunity. Many of them are power drunk low IQ high school dropout incels who blame immigrants for their problems when they actually live off our tax dollars.
Leveraging local law enforcement while residents ghost ICE and federal facilities makes it much harder to reliably invoke the Insurrection Act."
