I wondered how they got to the shooter so quickly, when the first reports said 300 yards away, but 130 yards is a lot closer. Guess they could trace the trajectory that quick.

I question the validity of what they are saying about the shooter, the distance and location, even my grand daughter can shoot better, out to 300 yards, than he did and think a totally independent investigation needs to review the gov findings "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help you"

Shooter was 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, PA

Crooks was a registered Republican. He was wearing a "Demilitia" T-shirt during the shooting which is a branded product of the "Demolition Ranch" youtube channel:

Crooks took the shots from the roof of a building (reportedly a manufacturing plant) about 130 yards from the stage where Mr. Trump was speaking.

Draw your own conclusions from that. Or not.

Reporting now is that the shooter was readily visible from people inside the event venue and some folks in the venue pointed out the shooter to security before shots were fired. The fact that the shooter missed at such close range argues the shooter was a deranged yahoo and not someone with any training.

Prayers for the rally goer who was killed in this idiocy.

I assume the conspiracy theories and disinformation are going to be going full blast by breakfast tomorrow.

On that we do agree as do several of the talking heads being interviewed the secret service dropped the ball in not securing ANY areas where there was a line of sight to the stage and podium, but regardless the facts still remain facts that there was an asassination attemp on the leading opposing candidate of the Democrat party.
Thankfully the shooter was not as good a sniper as he/ she thought they were. Matters not if it was Trump or any other candidate
Having much experience with wounds and blood, head/ ear wounds bleed a lot more than wounds to other areas of the body, not saying he is but even more so if a person is on any type of blood thinners, I know I bleed like a stuck hog regardless of where the cut is.

Which is one of the big questions I have and makes me wonder WTF is going on.

The "security perimeter" would include anything that has line of sight on where the protectee is going to be at a very generous distance. My understanding is that is standard procedure in protecting a President or Presidential candidate. So did the Secret Service drop the ball here?

Current reporting is that Mr. Trump was hit by flying glass, not grazed by a bullet. If he was "grazed" I'd expect a lot more blood and him being in a lot more pain than he appeared to be when they took him off the stage.

It would be nice to know who the shooter was and have some possible information on his motives. I'm assuming the shooter was a male.

CNN reporting the shot was made outside the venue by a 'sniper with a rifle' on a rooftop. The shooter is dead. One bystander, apparently a guy standing behind Trump is also dead and a 2nd bystander was rushed to the hospital.

This sniper doesn't speak for me, I don't condone his actions and am horrified by the incident.

What more information is needed to decide it was an asassination attempt? Shots were fired at the leading Republican Candidate. Unless you are a total mor*n and can't see the facts there was an asassination attempt. And if you are that dumb you should be neutered so as to not pass on the idiot gene
