Shall we place bets to see how confused people are as to where they can have campfires? Signs are posted all over the place in the campgrounds, little flags in the fire pits.
Call FS LEO if any campfires are going in the National Forest.
I read that the National Park lifted its burn ban last week or so.
It is supposed to rain starting Fri. for a few days. But it will take a fair amount to counteract the dryness out in the woods.

.
This change does NOT include FS (or other Federal lands), which remain closed.
I believe all campfires are banned on the Nat Forest.
I think this is premature on the part of the County to do this!

Okanogan County Burn Ban will be lifted Friday, October 10, 2025, at 12:01 AM reverting to a County-Wide Burn Restriction allowing campfires ONLY. (see definition below)
Recreational Fire Definition (campfires):
Recreational fires shall be contained in a concrete, rock, or steel ring (made from non-combustible material), no larger than 3 feet in diameter and no less than 8 inches in height. The fire (flames) shall be no higher than 2 feet and not conducted within 25 feet of a structure or combustible material. Recreational fires SHALL be attended to at all times. Campfires are prohibited during a Red Flag Warning.
Burn Restriction:
The Burn Restriction prohibits ALL field/pile/rubbish/rule/slash/yard vegetation and non-emergent agricultural burning on private lands in Okanogan County, allowing Campfires ONLY.
DNR burning restrictions (which may include restrictions on campfires), may apply to your private property if you are assessed a DNR Fire Control tax. This tax can be found on your county tax statement. If your property is DNR assessed contact DNR for clarification on their rules/restrictions.
