6 pm Sunday night fire coordination will transition to a Type 3 team.
More than 10 aircraft working the fire. It has cleared the ridge.

'Firefighters are preparing to protect structures in the Gold Creek Rd area, currently under LEVEL 2 evacuation. Wind is predicted for this afternoon and could push fire to homes. Be aware and be safe. If you do not live in this area, please stay clear. Access is critical and it is already tight.'

Fire is moving south over the ridge into Gold Creek near 134 Gold Creek Road. Winds are predicted to increase this afternoon. Persons should be aware the fire is moving towards Gold Creek Rd and South Fork Gold Creek Rd. Roads affected Gold Creek, Middle Fork and South Fork.

Persons should be aware of their surroundings and take action if needed.

If you feel unsafe, leave now.

Be cautious of emergency vehicles responding.

This is a Level 2, Be Ready to Evacuate.

Unknown if the fire has crested the ridge yet.

6/23/24 Gold Creek Wildfire AM Update: The Department of Natural Resources and Forest Service are on site, starting their day and preparing for operations. The fire is smoldering, with various hotspots and some tree fires. Trees are falling, sand there still is potential for fire spreading. A bulldozed line has been established at the northern flank. Light breeze coming out of the NW pushing smoke SE.

The fire near Gold Creek was reported last night at over 50 acres. Hand crews, including smokejumpers, worked all night and nearby neighbors could hear the chainsaws. Dozer lines are in place and work continues at a fast pace to try and get good containment before the winds arrive with a front this afternoon.
