Say no to new luxury pool. Swimming in chlorine not good for children's health

While discussing the proposed creation of a new recreational tax District to build a luxury pool in Twisp, a friend recently asked me why do people leave the city and come here only to try to create that City here? Why do they want us to pay for the conveniences and services that they left behind? Why indeed.

I always welcomed anyone who desires to live in this beautiful paradise. Its a paradise to many because we left behind the wants and desires that are satisfied in the city in favor of enjoying Nature's Bounty.

The people who built this rural place and made it livable for others to enjoy, never make the kind of money that can be made in the city. We've already seen our taxes increase as the property values increase with property demand. Any additional tax burden will just lead to the displacement of those not so wealthy local people who helped build this place.

I never understood why anyone would want to use a public pool which is full of bacteria supporting human waste that requires the use of strong chemicals to kill. If the disinfectant Kills harmful bacteria, what else does it harm? Well it turns out it harms humans.

Chlorine gas (a banned chemical weapon of war) and soaking in human waste is definitely not part of natures bounty that so many seek here.

Those who desire our tax dollars for their private enjoyment say that this time no powers of eminent domain will be included to cease private property for public use. However once a recreational tax district is created, that's just the first step towards gaining those powers.

Please don't sign the petition that places this issue on the ballot and if it makes it to the ballot in November vote no.
