This passed 214/213. If Newhouse had kept his promises he wouldn't have voted for it and we'd have a different outcome.

I don't think most people will "wake up" until they are living in a cardboard box in a freeway interchange.

This is indeed what they want. We are useless eaters, you know. Until the MAGA crowd and those that voted for #47 and felt they had no choice or for those that didn't vote, get gut punched, they don't seem to care either. But when they cannot get the food, health care that they will need, etc., maybe then they will realize how bad this bill is.
Of course, is it going to pass in the Senate? Newhouse must have had his life threatened for him to vote how he did. My household got a letter from him(a form letter) promising that he would not let cuts to these programs happen.

Hells bells, I really should have read my post again before hitting submit. Yes, the cuts don't come close to offsetting the tax giveaways to the billionaires.

Can we dispense with the falsehood that the spending cuts somehow "pay for" these large tax cuts. In reality they are 100 percent unrelated and the spending cuts come nowhere close to what would be required to cover the loss of revenue these large tax cuts represent.
What are the spending cuts about? A combination of screwing over people who aren't on "their team" and sheer poison malice.
And I swear if I have to log in again I will crawl through the fiber optic pipes and set this damned server on fire.

Except the message of the Big Beautiful Bill that passed the House by one vote guarantees huge tax cuts to ALL the billionaire crowd, not just DJT & puts in writing that the cost of those cuts will be offset by cuts in health care, infrastructure, education, Medicaid, Medicare, rural hospitals. But it's all good because Trump just gifted every one of them more than the $400M cost of the Qatari jet.

Re: Qatari plane delivered and accepted
So what the executive summary seems to be is that a fabulously wealthy and powerful person needs **another** private plane, paid for by the US government. Simultaneously that same fabulously wealthy and powerful person tells everyone else they need to prepare for tough times ahead and expect that government spending that benefits them will be cut back because the government is "broke".
That makes perfect sense.

It appears Jingles would be fine with that. Also, don't forget the Golden Dome over the US.

Question: there's already two AF 1 in the stable, 2 more are being built under contract by Boeing and now we have the Qatari one arriving, so begs the question, just how many AF 1's does Trump need? The Qatari jet is reported to need a couple of years time to be retrofitted and will cost taxpayers hundreds of millions.
