This is great. This is a good exercise to see where it fits on our tax bill. It's more than EMS, hospital and fire.

Personal About Proposition 1 Tax Implications

Post by SOulman »

I encourage people to start speaking in very personal terms about the effect Proposition 1 would have on their tax bill.

At the proposed rate of $0.75 / $1000 of assessed value, where does it fit in my tax bill?

For me, the picture of where my taxes would go is this --

State Schools $1,500
Local Schools 725
County Roads 650
County General 600

Proposed Aquatic District 475

Hospital Services 425
Fire Services 330
Emergency Medical Services 175
Library 150

Is the proposed new tax for an indoor aquatic center a priority for our community?

I can't bring myself to vote for a proposal that would tax me more for an indoor aquatic center than for essential community services.
